the Barbill Golf Society
Welcome to the BBGS website! 2012 promises to be a fantastic year of sport, featuring the 30th Games of the Olympiad, the 14th European Football Championships, and, more importantly, the 10th year of The Golden Club.
As sad as we are to say "au revoir" to outgoing Captain Daniel, we are delighted to announce Big Dave Williams as our new Captain, who is donating a stunning new trophy for the inaugral Captain's Day Cup. The Big Fella, assisted by his Vice-Captain Jonathan Tourettes, aim to give you a year of unrivalled golfing enjoyment. Please give them your support.
Our website architect MISTER GEEK has handed over day to day running of the site to "Raffles". Our thanks go to Ben for his fantastic work in setting up a legacy for BBGS communications and records.
We hope to post updates regularly, if you have anything to say, send it in and we'll put it on the news page! Catch up with the reports from recent comps, and we'll try to get some pictures loaded on (dependant on the solvency of Kodak). I fear that the most recent podcast may be our last!!!!
Finally, the Order of Merit has been revamped. Have a look to see if you can be the one to stop Raffles winning an unprecedented 4th title....
Membership
Membership of the society costs just £5 and entitles you to unrestricted entry in all BBGS events throughout the year, discounted event fees, an invitation to the society's annual dinner, entitlement to vote at the AGM, stand for election to the committee and you may use the post nominal MBGS. We operate a weighted handicap system in the Barbill Golf Society which is designed to promote competition throughout our membership. Our Handicap Secretary will calculate and maintain both your society handicap and a CONGU equivalent. You should familiarise yourself with our constitution if you wish to apply for membership.
